Lots of people believe that because they don’t have a skill they can’t become a digital nomad. This is not true at all!
I started off not knowing anything about freelancing or the internet. But I found Upwork and through there I started freelancing,and within in a year I was making a full-time income.
Some of my remote roles included a Virtual Assistant, Market Research, Social Media Manager, Project Manager leading to my current remote job as an SEO freelancer.
There is a remote job to suit everyone, and the best thing is most of them you can learn how to do for free. This post has rounded up the top 5 best remote jobs that allow you to travel in 2020.

1. Promotional Video Editor
Recently, while staying in a hostel in Rio, I met a 25-year-old woman who is a freelance video editor for YouTubers.
This is definitely one of the best remote jobs for travel out there at the moment!
You can combine creativity, a high demand for work and decent money altogether. She taught herself how to edit videos and from there, she began to brand and market herself as a video editor. Working with Instagram and YouTube Influencers, she is able to command a respectable fee for her services.
All you need is a decent laptop and a willingness to teach yourself video editing. If you’re interested in learning how to be a video editor, there are some great online courses.

2. SEO Freelancer
Working freelance doing SEO for small companies is currently how I earn most of my money. (Read my story here.) SEO or Search Engine Optimization is very easy to learn and is very profitable.

Nowadays, SEO is a vital part of marketing for any business that has a web presence. It is focused on growing visibility in organic search engine results. As someone who is not very ‘techy’, SEO work is one of the best remote jobs for travel in my opinion as you do not need much previous knowledge of computers to learn SEO.

People think web designers all degree from MIT to be able to work online! FALSE!
That is not the case at all! In fact, to become a web designer all you need is a month teaching yourself WordPress. With sites like Udemy, you can learn how to be a designer very cheaply!
Then you could market yourself as a WordPress web designer for small businesses in need of a basic but stylish website. You can teach yourself everything you need to know via affordable online courses.

4. Freelance Writer
Writing seems like the dream job for a hella lot of people, making it more competitive than other remote jobs. Principally because there is not much initial learning involved, anyone can be a writer.
The key to being a successful writer is learning how to market yourself. Make sure you have a cool website to act as your PR profile, then get out there!
You need to make sure people know about you, this could be through networking, guest posting on publishing sites or using contacts you have from your previous corporate life. In my ebook, I write about how to market your services as a freelancer.
As competition increases, writing is becoming seriously underpaid. Therefore, if we want to keep it as one of the best remote jobs for travel, please do not undercharge for your services. Know your worth and add tax!

Virtual Assistants are in high demand and you can make $50/hour in your first year. As long as you can use a computer, then you can help someone with their admin tasks. Virtual Assistant work is also great for learning about many different industries.

Great list! I’m a Virtual Assistant for my side business and the hardest part was finding the first client — self marketing! Hit the nail on the head with that one. It’s amazing how many different things people can do on the internet.
